Cracked Not Damaged
I’m Sarah with an H, a wife, mom of 2 boys and 7 cats, and I have spent the last 15 years pioneering a people first wedding photography business. I have gone through intense trauma the last few years both in my industry and in my personal life, which has helped to nudge me in the direction of forging my own path and writing my own story despite what came before me. If you’re ready yourself, to break generational trauma, wholly accept yourself authentically, join the anti-hustle lifestyle and bring mindfulness into your business and personal life, then this space is for you.

Are you sacrificing your entire identity for the sake of your business? Are you giving it all away realizing there’s not much left to you without your business? Do you know who you are without your business to carry you, OR fearful that one day you will forget who you are?
If any of these questions resonated with you, then this episode will hit home.
After 5 months of serious health/anxiety issues that completely debilitated me and put me out of service, I quickly learned the lesson that I had way too much of my identity wrapped up in my business.
Life went on without me. I watched from afar on social media and felt so alone. I wasn’t getting the “fulfillment” social media offers to us hungry humans. I was left contemplating who I was apart from my business.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. In this episode we talk in depth about why this is important to figure out for yourself before it’s too late.
Lastly, we dive into a NEW segment called: Mental Health Music Minute.
Each episode I will be pulling a song that means a lot to me and that the lyrics really speak to me whether it's about trauma, collective world pain, anxiety, etc.
I will read part of the song, dissect them and then play part of the song for you.

Mental health is inevitable in entrepreneurship for those who suffer. You're not alone. Robots don't run businesses, humans do. So this episode is spoken for you to feel seen and loved for the business owner you are, no matter the mental health diagnosis.
I will dive into my mental health journey beginning as early as preschool and very candidly share how I have failed in my business over the years because of my struggles. I will always keep it real and honest in hopes you'll find yourself not so alone.

On this first episode of Cracked Not Damaged, we are discussing the heavy story of my toxic ego-driven educational experience that changed who I was as a business owner, and not for the better. This experience was so influential and truly changed the entire blueprint of who I was as a person.
After spending around $20k on wedding industry education that I thought was going to take me to the top, my world came crashing down after having experienced multiple traumatic and problematic incidents within the group. I went from hustling all of the time to happily settling into an anti-hustle lifestyle.
Not all wedding industry education and educators are what you think. It's important to know the reality of this world, and hopefully you can use this story as a compass when deciding on education for yourself.
